GEORGIA'S PRAYER ROOM / Devotions From The Heart

Welcome To The Prayer Room...

Our Father which art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
In earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts  as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory
Forever.  Amen!!

Matthew 6:9-13

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in PRAYER.

This old song says it so right. You know when Jesus spoke to his disciples that day on the mount (better known as "The Sermon On The Mount"), it was not His intention that we pray those words AS a prayer, but that this prayer be a model of the ones they and we would someday speak to Him. He covered everything from praise, recognizing God's omnipotence, forgiveness of sins, praying for others, strength in time of struggles or temptation, praying for His will to be done in our lives, and having our needs provided.
Prayer is simply requesting something from God...or as I have heard and often share--- "Prayer is talking your heart out to God." For after all, He does know our hearts, doesn't He?
What a wise God we have and HOW much He loves us.

You know, communication is a two-way street. In prayer, we talk to God and through His Word, He speaks to us. That's a wonderful combination. And just like our earthly fathers and mothers, what would there be without conversation in a house. One would talk...and no one would listen or answer. How sad! How empty! But God made a way JUST for us, His children. He WANTS us to talk to Him about ANYTHING...EVERYTHING.....BIG THINGS...LITTLE THINGS... Things that to the world may seem insignificant, but not to Jesus. He loves you and I so much, so very much, that the Creator of the universe takes time to listen to little you AND me! Wow! Thank you, Jesus.

read the poetry, scripture and songs and  then "Come boldly to the throne."

When teaching children to sing, you come across some precious songs. Simply said, but to the point. Here's one that tells how we're to pray..
Jesus and Others and You..

What a wonderful way to spell JOY
Jesus and Others and You
In the heart of each girl and each boy
J - Is for Jesus for He has first place.
O - Is for Others we meet face to face.
Y - Is for You in whatever you do.
Put yourself last and spell J-O-Y!!

Here's another one.
Why worry when you can pray
Trust Jesus He'll be your stay
Don't be a Doubting Thomas
Rest fully in HIS promise
Why..WORRY..WORRY..WORRY..WORRY...
When you can PRAY!!!

Simple and to the point, right? Put Jesus and others first in prayer and yourself last. And don't WORRY. God WILL take care of you.

Here's some helpful tips about the different aspects of prayer.

First and foremost there's ADORATION. Daniel 4:34, "And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation;...Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise the extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment...."

Then comes CONFESSION. I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to firgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness."

Also SUPPLICATION. I Timothy 2:1-3 "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and accpetable in the sight of God our Saviour."

Then INTERCESSION. James 5:14, 15 "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, annointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

And finally last but not least there's THANKSGIVING. Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Believing Him; if storm clouds gather darkly 'round,
And even if the heavens seem hushed, without a sound?
He hears each prayer and even notes the sparrow's fall.
And praising Him; when sorrow, grief, and pain are near,
And even when we lose the thing that seems most dear?
Our loss is gain. Praise Him; in Him we have our All.

Our hand in His; even though the path seems long and drear
We scarely see a step ahead, and almost fear?
He guides us right--this way and that, to keep us near.

And satisfied; when every path is blocked and bare,
And worldly things are gone and dead which were so fair?
Believe and rest and trust in Him, He comes to stay.

Delayed answers to prayers are not refusals.. Many prayers are received and recorded, yet underneath are the words, "My time has not yet come." God has a fixed time and an ordained purpose, and He who controls the limits of our lives also determines the time of our deliverance.

In His time. In His time
God makes all things beautiful in His time
Lord, please show me every day
As You're teaching me Your way
That You do just what You say.

In Your time. In Your time.
You make all things beautiful in Your time
Lord, my life to You I bring;
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing
In YOUR time..

JUST A THOUGHT!! ASAP!

There's work to do, deadlines to meet, you've got no time to spare, but as you hurry and scurry,
ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

In the midst of family chaos, "quality time" is rare. Do your best; let God do the rest:
ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

It may seem like your worries are more than you can bear. Slow down and take a breather...
ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

God knows how stressful life is; He wants to ease our cares, and He'll respond A.S.A.P.
ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER!

George Mueller, prayer warrior, from England shares this wonderful devotional for us to learn more about prayer...
"Why are you downcast, O my soul?" Psalm 43:5

Is there ever any reason to be downcast? Actually, there are two reasons, but only two. if we were still unbelievers, we would have a reason to be downcast; or if we have been converted but continue to live in sin, we are downcast as a consequence.

Except for these two conditions, there is NEVER a reason to be downcast, for everything else may be brought to God "by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving" (Philippians 4:6.) And through all our times of need, difficulty, and trials, we may exercise faith in the power and love of God.

"Put your hope in God." (Ps. 43:5). Please remember there is never a time when we cannot hope in God, whatever our need or however great our diffculty may be. Even when our situation appears to be impossible, our work is to "hope in God." Our hope will not be in vain, and in the Lord's own timing help will come.

Oh, the hundreds, even the thousands, of times I have found this to be true in the past seventy years and 11 months of my life! When it seemed impossible for help to come, it did come, for God has his own unlimited resources. In ten thousand different ways, and at ten thousand different times, God's help may come to us.

Our work is to lay our petitions before the Lord, and in childlike simplicity to pour out our hearts before Him, saying, "I do not deserve that You should hear me and answer my requests, but for the sake of my precious Lord Jesus; for His sake, answer my prayer. And give me grace to wait patiently until it pleases YOU to grant my petition. For I believe YOU will do it in YOUR own time and way."

"For I will yet praise him" (Psalm 43:5). More prayer, more exercising of our faith, and more patient waiting leads to blessings----abundant blessing. I have found it to be true many hundreds of times, and therefore I continually say to myself, "Put your hope in God."

---George Mueller

Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer,
That calls me from a world of care
And bids me at my Father's throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter's snare
By Thy return..Sweet hour of prayer.

Go ahead now.  Have a little talk with Jesus. He's waiting. He's ALWAYS waiting and He ALWAYS hears. Lord bless you this day and always!  Put on the whole armor of God.

GEORGIA'S PROMISE ROOM/ Devotions From The Heart

"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature..." 2 Peter 1:4a

Sing A Long With Me

"Standing on the PROMISES of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring;
Glory in the highest I will shout and sing,
Standing on the PROMISES of God.
Standing, standing,
Standing on the PROMISES of God my Saviour
Standing, Standing,
I'm standing on the PROMISES of God"

When someone makes us a promise, we most generally can count on that promise, can't we? I mean, who wants to hear someone promise you something, and not follow through? We've all had broken promises throughout our lives, whether intentional or accidental. But, nevertheless, when it's broken, there's a void.  Your trust in that person has been broken also. You're afraid to ever trust again, right? Well, I can guarantee you one thing for certain. There is SOMEONE who is a Class #1 PROMISE KEEPER and that is Jesus Christ. Journey along with me for a page filled with promises that will never end. In fact, they'll take YOU into eternity!!!

"And being fully persuaded that, what he had PROMISED, he was able also to perform." Romans 4:21

A children's song many years was full of truth about Promises.

I am a PROMISE
I am a possibility
I am a PROMISE with a capital "P"
I am a great, big bundle of potentiality
And if I listen,
I can hear God's voice
And if I let Him
He'll help me make the right choice
I am a Promise to be..
Everything God wants me to be!!!"

Joshua 1:3 "I will give you every place you set your foot, as I promised."

Besides the literal ground still unoccupied for Christ, there is before us the unclaimed and unwalked territory of God's promises. What did God say to Joshua? "I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised." Then He set the boundaries of the Land of Promise---all theirs on one condition: they must march across its length and breadth, measuring it off with their own feet.

Yet they never marched across more than one third of the land, and as a consequence, they never POSSESSED more than that one third. They possessed only what they measured off and no more.

In 2 Peter 1;4 we read, "He has given us his very great and precious promises." The land of God's promises is open before us, and it is His will for us to possess it. We must measure off the territory with the feet of obedient faith and faithful obedience, thereby claiming and appropriating it as our own.

How many of us have ever taken possession of the promises of God in the name of Christ? The land of His promises is a magnificent territory for faith to claim by marching across its length and breadth, but faith has yet to do it.

Let us enter into and claim our total inheritance. Let us lift our eyes to the north, south, east, and west and hear God say, "All the land that you see I will give to you" (Genesis 13:14).

---------Arthur Tappan Pierson

Where ever the tribe of Judah set their feet would be theirs, and wherever the tribe of Benjamin set their feet would be theirs, and so on. Each tribe would receive their inheritance by setting foot upon a given territory, they instantly and instinctively felt, "This is ours"?

An elderly black man who had a wonderful testimony of grace was once asked, "Daniel, how is it that you exhibit such peace and joy in your faith?" "Oh, sir!" he replied. "I just fall flat on God's 'very great and precious promises,' and I have all that is in them. Glory! Glory!" One who falls flat on God's promises knows that all the riches abiding in them are his.

The Marquis of Salisbury, an English statesman and diplomat, upon being criticized for his colonial policies, replied, "Gentlemen, get larger maps."

The above was taken from "Streams In The Desert" by Mrs. Charles (L.B.) Cowman

Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that PROMISED)".

Hebrews 11:11 "Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had PROMISED."

There shall be showers of blessing
This is the PROMISE of love
There shall be seasons refreshing
Sent from the Saviour above.
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead

Revelation 22:1-5 "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it and his servants shall serve him;

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light; and they shall reign for ever and ever."

7.   A Promise To See Our Saviour First Of All

I John 3:2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when he shall apear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.."

"When my lifework is ended, and I cross the swelling tide,
When the bright and glorious morning I shall see;
I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side,
And His smile will be the first to welcome me.
I shall know Him,
I shall know Him,
And redeemed by His side I shall stand,
I shall know Him,
I shall know Him
By the print of the nails in His hand.

After all.. isn't that what heaven should and will be for us. JESUS---our precious Lord and Savior, forever and always in His presence  loving, worshipping and praising the One who gave His all for us.

My prayer is that you all DO know my Jesus.. If you don't, your life must be so empty. Look and read all these promises again that God has given to those who are His.   But most of all, and above all  He gave us His very best. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes.  His promises are from everlasting and He loves you more than you'll ever know.

Please drop me a line.   I would love to share with you all about my special precious Lord and how you, too, can be blessed beyond measure because what He has done for you.

"Sing your praise to the Lord, come on, everybody..Stand up and sing one more HALLELUJAH.
Give your praise to the Lord...I can never tell ya..Just how much good that it's gonna do ya.
Just to sing anew the song your heart learned to sing when He first gave your life to you .
Well, life goes on and so must the song; You've got to sing again--
The song born in your soul when you first gave your heart to Him.
So sing His praises once more!
Sing your praise to the Lord..Come on everybody, stand up and sing one more HALLELUJAH.
Give your praise to the Lord ..I can never tell you just how much good that it's gonna do you.
Just to sing aloud the song that someone is dying to hear down in the madd'ning crowd,
As you once were before you heard the song; You've got to let them know.

"Rejoice in the Lord always..and again I say..REJOICE!!!" (Philippians 4:4).

FOR LAUGHTER
Thank you, Lord, for laughter.
And for all the people who can bring it about, make us see the funny side of things.
The world is so full of anguish; life itself sometimes seems so grim. Thank you that in your vast understanding you gave us laughter to make us forget, restore our wounded spirits, brighten the journey, lighten the load.
Just as you saved tears for human beings, you blessed us alone with laughter.
And surely this too is a clue to your very nature. A nature akin to our own.
Thank you for this blessing, Lord. This shining gift of laughter.

Clap your hands, all you people; Shout unto God with a voice of triumph! Clap your hands, all you people; Shout unto God with a voice of praise! Hosanna! Hosanna! Shout unto God with a voice of triumph! Praise Him! Praise Him! Shout unto God with a voice of praise!!"...Based on Psalm 47:1

PSALM 149
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion by joyful in their King.
let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and twoedged sword in their hand;
To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints...Praise ye the LORD.
